The U.S. Department of Defense has reversed its earlier decision, and announced that the F-35 will appear at this year's Paris Air Show.

The Italian assembly floor in Cameri has rolled out its first F-35B, destined for the Italian Air Force.  Italy maintains the sole European assembly site for the F-35.

Russian officials continue to maintain that they are closing in on a deal with India for development of an Indian version of Russia's PAK-FA stealth fighter.  Indian officials, however, have been less commital, insisting that outstanding issues surrounding technology transfer must first be resolved.

Rolls-Royce has unveiled a plan to set up a joint development effort with Turkey's Kale to develop a fighter engine for Turkey's proposed TF-X stealth fighter.

The U.S. Air Force has released video footage from the Atlantic Trident 17 NATO exercise, demonstrating some of the capabilities that the fifth generation F-22 stealth fighter brings to the table as part of a larger fighter fleet.

The U.S. Air Force has formally designated the demonstrator engines for the Adaptive Engine Transition Program (AETP) as the XA100 and XA101 - with the XA100 to be built by General Electric and the XA101 to be built by Pratt & Whitney.  The XA engine designation indicates the "adaptive" nature of this next generation of jet engine, in contrast to the XF engine development designations used for previous generations of turbofan fighter engines.
