Engine shortages have led Bombardier to pause its C-Series deliveries for two months. The C-Series is powered by Pratt & Whitney's Geared TurboFan (GTF) engine, a version of which is also offered as an option on Airbus' A320 NEO.

Mitsubishi Aircraft expects to introduce their smaller Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) version, featuring 70 seasts, into flight test next year. The larger, 90-seat variant is currently in the midst of its test program.

India's aviation regulatory agency, DGCA has launched an investigation into Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines operated by IndiGo and GoAir, both of which have experienced engine related issues in the past two months. The investigation is focused on reports of chips found in the engine's oil, one of which was the result of a main gearbox failure.
