The FAA is asking operators of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to periodically shut down and reboot their airplane's systems, to avoid a potentially dangerous computer system glitch that might otherwise occur mid-flight. According to the FAA advisory, "all three flight control modules on the 787 might simultaneously reset if continuously powered on for 22 days."

Boeing has begun final assembly for its first 787-10 stretched Dreamliner model. The first two fuselage sections have already arrived at Boeing's North Charleston final assembly plant.

United Airlines is negotiating a possible reduction in its order for Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, and is reportedly examining converting some if its orders to smaller models.

Airbus has posted a total of 600 airplane orders, and delivered 577 airplanes from January to December of 2016.
