Boeing has has booked five firm orders for the 787-9 from Qantas Airways, a #1.3 billion deal at list prices. Qantas is also converting three existing orders from the 787-8 to the 787-9.

El Al Israel Airlines has placed an order for up to nine Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with a leasing arrangement for a further six 787s. El Al also announced the selection of the Rolls Royce Trent 1000 to power the aircraft.
